Santa Claus has a very unusual way of getting around in Mauritius.
Children do not wait for him at the corner of a fireplace but on the beach watching the horizon. Suddenly a strange craft appears in the sky behind the sun. A kind of plane approaching. The children shout with joy, they have seen it! It is a plane that has landed on the water of the lagoon and is approaching them like a boat.
The door opens and the children’s screams can be heard. Santa gets out of this magic machine and starts to distribute presents to all the children.
This is how Christmas is in Mauritius: sunshine, seaplane with a generous Santa, sand and beaches instead of snow. And of course, surprises for all the children.
